About EFT Files

So what exactly is an EFT file?:

Easily put, an electronic fingerprint card file!

Pre ATF EForms, anyone who wanted to get into the NFA game had to jump through lengthy loops, physical in person appointments to get fingerprints, passport photos, and obtain checks or money orders for payment. It was a time consuming process made worse by the waiting time after - a pure hurry up and wait affair.

Once the ATF implemented EForms, submitting Form 1 or Form 4 paperwork became a little less cumbersome. Still, there existed the issue of needing to mail in hard copies of fingerprints, adding time and cost to an already lengthy process.

Today the ATF EForms system is capable of accepting electronic prints - provided you have the proper file (an EFT file). This file is a digital, and properly formatted file that contains your fingerprints as well as the demographic data listed at the top of your fingerprint card. This file can be submitted with your Form 1 or Form 4, all from the comfort of your home.

Our goal at Tyr Ident is to facilitate a quicker, more effortless process to get your paperwork submitted. For now that means making EFT files more accessible and readily obtained. No more needing to make fingerprinting appointments, finding a kiosk, maintaining paper fingerprint cards, or working with a company that won't provide you a copy of your own biometrics.
